SAVANNAH | Elkhart Newborn Session

This newborn session with Savannah and her family was on a hot, muggy day, but they were all fantastic troopers and rocked it!  Newborn photos are usually easiest to capture within the first 10 days after birth, because the younger the baby is, the more they will usually want to sleep and will be easier to photograph and put them into poses.  Although Savannah was 7 weeks old when we could finally get to doing this session, I think she did a fantastic job (as did her parents!) at making this shoot work.  Although she doesn’t have quite as much of that “newborn look” in the photos, one benefit I saw from doing this session a little later than most was that the photos capture a little more of her unique personality and looks that she will probably carry with her for the next months, years, and decades! Savannah is the perfect, adorable addition to the Law family, but I am a little biased since her dad (Jason) is my cousin! It’s always such a treat to photograph family (especially when they are tiny and super cute!) and I’m so glad Jason and Mindy asked me to photograph their little girl!

We started our photo session at a state park near where the family lives and found some nice shaded areas to snap a few photos.

With the weather being so hot, we didn’t spend super long at the park and Savannah decided to take a little nap in her mom’s arms.Law-41

We went back to the Law’s house to do a few shots of just Savannah.  She was bright eyed and bushy tailed almost the whole time, and I loved her expressions!

Lucy (the family pug) joined for a few!

Mindy had a fantastic idea to use her wedding dress as a backdrop and Savannah made herself right at home!

Parent’s wedding rings on toes!  The CUTEST thing.

And, of course, tiny feet are always adorable.

We moved out to the backyard and took a few more!

If you’ve never seen an adorable baby, naked, except for tied-on angel wings, you’re missing out.  So here you go.

Jason & Mindy, thanks for letting me capture your precious Savannah!  I’m so proud of you and I love all three of you!
