Grace and Jesse’s sweet summer wedding was a mix of Country, Vineyard, and Chic. Although it wasn’t actually held on a vineyard, Stillwater Retreat in Yoder, Indiana’s wide open field in which they held their ceremony, beautiful little clearings surrounded by trees where we took our bride and groom portrait photos, and stonework in the lodge where the reception was held was a really beautiful adaptation of the photos Grace shared of her vision for their wedding. As stressful as it can be to plan a wedding, Grace and Jesse’s family rose to the occasion to see that every possible detail was taken care of and made beautiful.
Jesse and Grace’s ceremony was scheduled to begin at 2:00 and since I had talked them into doing a first look (and I’m so glad they trusted me and did it!), we had to take most of our photos in the middle of the day in 90 degree weather with very few clouds in the sky. Fortunately, most of the super harsh light was diffused by trees and the heat we just tried to ignore as much as possible. Guys. Their first look was goose-bump inducing. I shared a photo on Instagram about how even editing their first look photos was making me emotional! The moment of seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day was so powerful, genuine and priceless. It’s such an honor to get an up-close view of first looks through my lens. Of course the rest of Jesse and Grace’s wedding was delightful too! Here are some of my favorite shots from their wedding day! Enjoy!
