E D E N | 3.3.16 Newborn

My friend Katie recently had a sweet little baby girl that I got to take pictures of! I’m not sure when a baby is officially not a newborn anymore, but I think only being 2 1/2 weeks old still qualifies as a newborn (which was how old Eden was for this photo shoot).

Her cutie pie older brother also made an appearance to hold her and was beaming the entire time!  Her mom (who could easily fool me into thinking that being a mom is a piece of cake) was also splendid – you can tell there’s a lot of love in this family!  My only regret is not having captured a shot of the whole family since dad was there too!  Anyway, here are some of my favorites from our shoot!

Scott and Caecilia’s February 20th wedding was perfectly beautiful in so many ways!  Not only did they do an amazing job planning the wedding in a relatively short amount of time, the weather could not have been more perfect for February!  Although the Venue was a little tricky to work with in some ways, I think the beautiful downtown atmosphere and the historic details at the Fort Wayne History Center made for the perfect place for this sweet couple’s big day.

Across the street, there's a building with a purple wall I've always liked the look of, and I was glad to finally be able to use it as a backdrop in the portrait pictures for this wedding!

The bride actually had two pairs of shoes, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. These were the reception shoes, which I loved.

The Groom's mother was not able to attend the wedding, so the wedding party did a group dance to honor her. It was moving, to say the least.

The Beginning.

As I sit here to write the first post of the Anna Barker Photography blog, I’m a little blown away.

By the fact that I get to do what I do.

By all the people who have influenced, taught, inspired, instructed, constructively criticized, participated, assisted, backed up, encouraged, believed and trusted me enough to help me embark on this adventure.

By all the events leading up to and pointing out the importance of photographs in my life.

By all the photographs I get the privilege of having that remind me of the mystery and magic of past memories.

By all the moments that happened when I was in the right place in order for me to snatch them up and make them last at least a little while longer.

By all the places and people who have taken my breath away and been so worth capturing.

Thank you.  Thank you mom, for getting so many photos while we were growing up, even when the rest of us grumbled about it.  Thank you dad, for keeping such good track of and digging up said photos.  Thank you Sarah for being one of my first models.  Thank you Olivia for being the first person to trust me with capturing your big day.  Thank you, various teachers for teaching me what not to do and to let the rest come naturally, but correctly.

Thank you Jake for being so supportive and free in letting me find what I really love doing.

Thank you, Lord, for, in the midst of difficulties and ugliness, a world also so chalked full of beauty and that this can be the inspiration for what I get to do.
